DIY: Independence Day

Jashn-e-Azaadi Mubarak to all of the PAKISTANI AWAAM, who’re here in this Ever Green Country or living abroad! May Allah prosper and bless our country with the best and Just of the Leaders and a sensible Nation.

I hope all of you’re having a great time, and just in case you wanna know about how did I spend mine, I am having a great time too, all the flags, fireworks, lightings, bride kind of decorated buildings and markazs and Air show by Pak-Air force, Feeling HIGH! Imma Proud Pakistani! I am so excited to share how we’re celebrateing this day. So, without any further delay let me share the DIY kind of decors I tried to give those patriotic vibes to my home.

So here is a first picture of a Flag Garland I made and hanged with the help of a flag stickers in the corner of my room’s wall. Coming towards how I made this garland, well there is no rocket science in it, of course because they’re garlands 😛 we don’t need rocket science here. I cut few triangle shapes from a chart paper, if you already have a green chart paper then it’s perfect but I didn’t find green one so I painted acrylic paints on these triangles. Before painting I just outlined the letters that I wanted to be on each triangle of a garland and painted rest of the area green. I made hole with the help of hole punch at two corners of the triangle and passed a woolen thread through it. At the back of the triangles I stick the tape so that it remain on place and do not move more leaving more and unequal spaces between each flag. And it was all ready to be there on my wall.

ALong with this flag garland i added some embellishments, that is green stars and diamonds. As my walls are painted white and that garland looked so lonely up there. I cut some star and diamond shapes, painted them green to compliment the white color of my wall and pasted them on wall with the help of tape.

As I wanted to add some more color of patriotism in my room so I took a green bottle I had, painted Crescent and Star (that on Pakistan’s Flag to represent the flag) and placed it on my accent table along with other things I had already placed there.

This is a vendetta mask I painted in green and white to show colors of our flag. I also placed this on one of my accent table but I was actually going to wear this for my INDEPENDENCE DAY PICTURES. 🙂

Okay! M gonna go to have a day with me and my freedom. Bye Bye!!

And Yeah! How did you decor your home this Independence Day? Do let me know!

Fri-Yay: My Friday Ritual

IMG_20170811_150516.jpg

It’s Friday and the only decision you need to make is how to make it productive.  Well! Every person has their own way to spend Friday but let me tell you my musts on this day as Friday is a HOLY day, when even all of those our Muslim brothers who don’t pray regularly pray the Namaz in their Nearest Masjids.  I don’t know about your homes but on Fridays, there is earth quake kind of emergency alert in our home.  And whatever you wanna do, you just gotta serve yourself no matter how. My Friday morning starts with my mother  yelling, shouting,  aggressive voices forcefully entering my ears, “Uthhh Jaoo” (Wake-up), “Raat puri Internet laga kar baithay rehtay hain or subha mujhse shor machwaatain hain” (you spend whole night using internet and make me shout my throat out to wake you up in the morning).

And then I and my other ‘innocent’ siblings get off our beds, one by one, each time with those taunting and yelling by our beloved mother. Okay! Enough of my mother’s morning scolding ritual, let’s get back to what I do on Friday including some religious rituals. Continue reading “Fri-Yay: My Friday Ritual”

You know,  Whenever there is a mango season, I am like, OHH Yeahhh!!! This time I am not gonna let you goo BABY! And the season started just a month or two ago and it’s already about to end. I mean why? I wait the whole year for mangoes to hit the market and right when I put my hands on it, They’re like “Few Days Left” to enjoy these pulpy mangoes. OKAY OKAY! I get it! Just like all other ‘Pyaar and Mohabbat’ this Zaalim society don’t want me to get my happily ever after with the only love of my life (mango) too. Anyhoo! I am sorry I got a bit overly dramatic as the mango season is about to end and there is still too much that we can do and talk about. Shall we begin? Today my only advice to you all is just this one thing, LIFE IS TOO SHORT, EAT DESSERT FIRST! And what can be a best dessert in this Mango-ey season? Of course something made of mango. So Let me share with you two yummiesttt mango recipes I have tried so far

HOW TO GET RID OF DULL HAIR: PROTEIN TREATMENT AT HOME

There’s something about thick, shiny, healthy and pretty-textured hair. We simply can’t compromise on any of these. Talking about myself, I got pretty long hair, you know the length many people idealize, and so badly wanna have. Yes, exactly that one (raises her fists in the air, YAAS) I got the knee-length hair and it may sound self-appraising to you but no, you know what matters actually? It’s not the length, well may be in some cases it does matter but for me what actually matters is the texture of hair, I mean who’s gonna love those dry and dull ‘Ghaaass’ kind of hair even if they’re oh-so-beautifully long? The real beauty of hair is its texture, how lively and lustrous they’re, not the length. So, I thought why not share with you guys a treatment I’ve been following and my ancestors and their ancestors followed since ages to keep their hair healthy, strong and beautiful. Many of you must be aware of the formula I’m about to share and many of you might not or may have forgotten and need a reminder! So,

Biryani: Our Friday Ritual

Biryani has a great influence in our Friday rituals since I opened my eyes in this world. Every Friday, like a lot of other Pakistani Desi mothers, My Mother also sets to cook biryani as a compulsion. It’s like, it is not Friday if there is no Biryani. As I was born in KSA ( Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and here, Friday is what we call our weekend, our weekly holiday and it has also been my father’s only WHOLE day at home, so, My mother just like a good wife knows that the path to my father’s heart is through his stomach and his stomach is addicted to friday Biryanis since forever. So, there is no leave for us (women) on weekends or holidays in typical desi families. What our mothers do and teach us to do as well is, on friday, when everyone else is enjoying their friday SUPER LOOONG sleeps ( that we can only envy), after your daily religious ritual (wudhu, 2 raka’a of nafal and some azkaar) she steps inside the kitchen. From there on she makes breakfast, washes dishes, help my family’s men get ready to go for Jummuah Prayers and then the Weekly Biryani Tradition starts with all the aroma of fried onion, garlic, spices and all that Tarka(frying), Bhunna (roasting) and Dum. And this rich, delicious and spicy rice and chicken’s dish is ready by the time, The Males of Home get back to home and then they’re served the lunch, that is, this so very tempting BIRYANI (believe me, I’m drooling even with the thought of it). And this biryani ritual goes on and on. This was about my Friday, what’s your Friday’s lunch ritual. Share with me by commenting below.
